Coach's Tips

1. Don't overstretch.  Go as far as you can comfortably go. Bend your knees if necessary.

2.  Gradually deepen the stretch with your breathing.

3. Never do ballistic, or bouncing, movements while stretching as this can cause injury.

Summary It has been said that youth is flexibility and flexibility is youth.  It is important to keep our minds and our bodies flexible as we age.  Flexibility should be one of the legs of any fitness and wellness routine.  This practice is as important as our endurance and stregth training and is vital in injury prevention.
